For the past two years, the generous owners of the Amazwi Contemporary Art Gallery in Saugatuck have opened their doors and invited the community in to raise funds for Solar Circle. Gallery owners Mike Tischleder and Wally Petersen seem to know everyone in the community. They have donated a painting for each fundraiser, which is auctioned off. There’s also a silent auction presenting items from Tanzania – TingaTinga paintings, carvings, and beautiful, colorful cloth. Look for the fundraiser in Spring 2007. One of the auction items will be a hand-carved nativity set similar to one sold in 2006.
